Description

A low habit shrub to 1

It was breed at the Botanical Garden of the Uzbek Academy of Science in the then USSR (now Uzbekistan) in 1964 for what ever reason best left to Soviet scientists (almost has a dystopian vibe to it)

Very hardy and easy to grow with a long flowering season

It prefers to be grown in moist soil in a partially shaded position

unfortunately this species is threatened in the wild and is listed as Endangered by the IUCN

Juglans mandshurica Edible A low habit shrub toA deciduous tree native to northeastern Asia, rarely seen or grown, this quick growing tree is perfectly hardy, perhaps the hardiest of the Juglans genus, and easy on almost all soils however it prefers deep, moist and well drained soils
